Annual Letter

It’s true what they say – the days pass slowly, but the years fly by. I can’t believe it has already been 12 years since my initial Copper Triangle ride! On August 4, I will once again be riding the 79-mile loop through the Colorado Rockies to raise awareness and funds for Parkinson’s and brain research.
Last year, with your support, we raised over $10,000 again for the organizations that made a positive difference in my dad’s (Bill Halcott) life – The Illinois Valley Brain Injury Clubhouse (http://www.ivbiclubhouse.org) and The Davis Phinney Foundation (https://www.davisphinneyfoundation.org). We continued our Match Challenge with the Davis Phinney Foundation as the first 15 Copper Triangle fundraisers to raise $500 were matched dollar for dollar by a donation from Wild Bill’s Warriors. Thank you!
This year has brought a major change to our family – Jennie, Marie and I moved to Metro Detroit at the end of January due to Tru Family Dental’s continued expansion and need for a main support office. We packed up our 1200 square foot Chicago condo and are now residing on two acres in Orchard Lake, MI in a home built in the 1860s. The home is located on Pine Lake, allowing us to expose Marie to some of our favorite water activities. It’s pretty special watching her jump off the back of the boat and enjoy swimming. At only 20 months old, she’s already a little fish! Given our lake access, we have already enticed family and friends to visit...and we welcome more visitors!
As always, thank you so much for the support as I embark on another ride this year. Your commitment year in and year out is remarkable, and I am humbled by the support and love. To donate to the 2018 ride, please visit http://www.wildbillswarriors.org.
